"Is a Doctors order required?"
No physicians order is required, and we encourage communication with your physician. Anyone may call, email, or contact us as provided on this website to arrange or pay for a screening, diagnostic cardiac ultrasound, or metabolic test.
"How long will the test take?"
Ultrasound screening of your carotid arteries will take 20 minutes. All other tests take less than 15 minutes. A full cardiac ultrasound may take up to 30 or 40 minutes. Immediate reports are generated, while FINAL cardiac ultrasound reports are available in 1 - 2 days.
"Is x-ray used?"
Ultrasound uses only sound waves, is painless, harmless, and can be repeated without harm. Only the bone scan uses a tiny amount of x-ray, about 1/100 the amount of a typical chest x-ray.
"Is insurance accepted?"
While Vital Health Scores has Medicare billing privileges for some tests, credit cards, check, or cash are the preferred payment method.
"Is this the same test used for pregnant women?"
"Are screenings as accurate as full examinations?"
Screenings are not considered as strictly "diagnostic" exams. Regardless, our protocols are highly accurate and sensitive, and will discover and quantify any structural abnormality with as much accuracy.
"SHOULD DIABETICS BE SCREENED?"
All type 1 or type 2 diabetics should AT LEAST receive a screening ultrasound of their carotid arteries.
"when do i receive my results?"
Before the client leaves our office or the same day. Final results of the cardiac ultrasound (Echocardiogram) will be generated and received usually within 1 - 2 business days.
"Are credit cards accepted?"
Yes, all major credit cards are accepted.
